Family Wild School & wellness retreat afternoon Event (SUNDAY May 5th 2024’)
FAMILY SOCIAL & CONNECTING TO NATURE IN SPRING EVENT (All ages event)
Event Start Time:  SUNDAY 5 MAY 2024’ (1PM– 6 PM)
 
EVENT LOCATION:  Hanmer Area Ontario (Meeting point will be at corner of Desmarais Road & Nelson Lake Rd 9am SUNDAY AM. Location of the Campsite setup is within a few miles of the meeting point. (People will follow in caravan the staff vehicle which will escort the participants to the location of the base camp retreat).
 
MUST HAVE OWN TRANSPORTATION ARRANGED
Come join us for a fun afternoon and a unique experience.  Get your family outside and connecting with nature!
 
Sunday 1-6pm                   YOUTH & ADULTS event with families being the focus.  Adults to come and accompany their youth for a short distance walk around a nearby pond and nearby lookouts to talk about the forest and a little show and tell of what is occurring around us in the spring season.  Afterwards everyone returns to our campsite and group common area for fun nature based activities. 
 
Our little walk around will lead into a Mini scavenger hunt.  Participants go on their own “within eye sight” of the camp with their families or youth / or team up and make new friends and work in groups.   The event is meant to be fun and promote learning and wilderness education while spending quality bonding with family while connecting to nature.
 
Especially for youth this exposure creates real healthy connections to the natural world.  Sensory play and learning about original human skills about the forest all around us.   Information about trees, plants, wildlife and things going on around us in the spring environment.
  
Following the scavenger hunt will be a community fire and social with tables setup for rock painting & other wilderness crafts.   There will also be a couple of tents setup for show and tell about winter / spring camping in four seasons tents.  Our staff will gladly answer questions and explain equipment & gear that will be onsite.  During this time snacks will also be laid out with hotdogs and beverages.
 
This venue is a bring your own vehicle & bring your own food (with exception of complimentary 1 pop /drink, 2 hot dog, 1 hot drink per person).  Spring clothing and personal effects accordingly based on the weather IE:  raining = wear rain pants and rubber boots/ waterproof work boots or comparable for light bush settings. We would also recommend a camera to capture the experience.
 
MANDATORY:
ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST SIGN A RELEASE OF LIABILITY AGREEMENT & ASSUMPTION OF RISK WAIVER. THIS LEGAL PAPERWORK IS REQUIRED BY OUR COMPANY POLICY TO PARTICIPATE IN OUR EVENTS.
